Late Hellenistic grave reliefs from Thessaloniki. What do they reveal?

Abstract

The present paper discusses a group of late Hellenistic grave reliefs deriving from Thessaloniki and the surrounding
area. Due to the fact that the iconography of these monuments is mainly based on the reproduction of iconographical
types well-known from Veria’s funerary monuments, some of them have been attributed, from the research conducted,
to Verian artists. However, both the iconographic and stylistic analyses manifest that many could actually
constitute works of local production.
