Le terme di Cugno dei Vagni. Nuovi interventi di restauro tra recupero e valorizzazione

Abstract

The archaeological research and enhancement activities that involved the roman baths of Cugno dei Vagni (Nova Siri,
MT, Basilicata region) had the objective of using a correct restoration methodology to apply to the structures. The
Project “Magna Grecia. Da Pitagora alla cittadinanza temporanea euromediterranea”, which attested an important
collaboration between the Università degli Studi della Basilicata and the Soprintendenza Archeologia Belle Arti e
Paesaggio della Basilicata, represented the opportunity to return an unknown monument to the local communities. The
archaeological excavations and restoration interventions have given new value to a context considered “minor”, but
which can be considered an important evidence of a roman thermal culture.
