Divisi alla fine. Le comunità enotrie della Sibaritide prima della fondazione di Sibari
Abstract
The interactions between Oinotrian and colonial Greek communities around the foundation of the Greek colony of
Sybaris are often discussed with a special focus on the painted pottery styles. Differences in Undulating Band Style
painted pottery from the near sites of Timpone della Motta (Francavilla Marittima) and Serra Castello (Corigliano-
Rossano) hint at the existence of distinct Iron Age polities around the plain of Sybaris: this reflects a certain complexity
in the paracolonial confrontation.
