Italici ad Irsina?

Abstract

The contribution proposed a reconstruction of the story between VI and IV B.C. of a site located on the high ground of
Irsina (today completely lost), where inhumations are flanked, in an absolutely uncommon way, by cremations. This
analysis is based on a detailed report of 1936 and through the analysis of the very few known contexts and above all
some notable red-figure kraters (one attic, others produced both in Metaponto and in Taranto).
