Dall’arx al castrum: riformulazioni funzionali dello spazio pubblico
Abstract
This contribution shows the evolution of ‘acropolis’ role in some cities of southern Italy (Anagni, Ferentino, Cuma,
Taranto and Syracuse). The observation of the city plan allows to evaluate the significance of the changes and/or persistence
that characterize the urban fabric during the passage from the roman age to the late antique-early Middle Ages,
mainly concentrated in the acropolis and along the walls, which were repaired and restored.
