ABSTRACT:
The MiBACT project “Appia-Regina Viarum” transposes the strategic vision of cultural tourism as the reputation base
for Italy in the World. The ancient consular road was established by Appius Claudius in 312 b.C. to conquer Southern
Italy. The segment among Venusia and Silvium is between the most debated. Recent diggings to build an irrigation plant
in the countryside between Venosa and Palazzo San Gervasio have unearthed preparation materials and pavements corresponding
to the hypothetic track of Via Appia in this area
