Nuovi scavi nell’abitato preromano di Poseidonia-Paestum
Abstract
Poseidonia-Paestum can be considered one of the best known ancient cities of Magna Graecia, not only for the interest
that temples have aroused since the eighteenth century, but also for the data obtained during stratigraphic research.
From this context arises the decision to start, within the management and financial autonomy granted to the Archaeological
Park of Paestum by the recent reform of the Italian museum system, a stratigraphic excavation project aimed
at defining a little-known aspect of pre-Roman Poseidonia: the domestic architecture. Here some preliminary results
acquired during the first excavation campaign carried out from October 2016 to January 2017 will be presented, as part
of a project still in progress.
