Ruvo di Puglia. Contributo per una proposta di lettura delle dinamiche insediative di un centro peuceta di Aglaia Piergentili Màrgani* e Ilaria Fabiano*

AA. VV.

Abstract

The analytical and exhaustive study of Italic settlements, particularly in Southern Italy, has always posed numerous
avenues of investigation and problems that are often difficult to solve. In the pages that follow a topographic and site
overview, in a diachronic sense, of the Peucetia site in Ruvo di Puglia is proposed with the intention of reorganising
the copious amount of archaeological data in order to establish a repertoire for the archaeological map of the site in
question. The starting point of the research is the work: “Ruvo di Puglia e il suo territorio. Le necropolis” by Andrea
Montanaro. A careful division of the finds was made, from the Iron Age to the Roman period, and phase maps were
drawn up taking into consideration the evidence relevant to the Ruvo area. For each archaeological point on the maps,
a topographic card was developed. The list (with a total of 180 archaeological points) is presented with entries regarding
location, typology and chronology: indispensable factors for an understanding of the site, in a diachronic sense, under examination.
