Abstract

SVMMARIVM – Notae in HE 3984 νᾶσος ἐμὰ θρέπτειρα Τύρος, ubi Meleager describit
Tyrum et eam vocat insulam. Is non solum memorat veterem urbis figuram, sed etiam se
comparat priscis poetis, ut Homero, Sappho et Archilocho, qui in Aegaeis insulis nati sunt.

ABSTRACT – In HE 3984 νᾶσος ἐμὰ θρέπτειρα Τύρος, Meleager, describing Tyrus as an
island, alludes to the old geographical shape of the city but also remarks his link with the poets
of the ancient times, like Homer, Sappho, and Archilochus, who were born in the Aegean
islands.
