transmits Angelo Poliziano’s hand notes to Virgil’s works. :is paper o%ers a survey of the
citations from Sophocles’ plays used by Poliziano to comment on Virgil’s Eclogues and Aeneid.
:e aim is also to provide new information for further research on both the humanists’ interest
in Greek theatre and, more broadly, on Sophoclean Fortleben in the Renaissance.
