Abstract
The ongoing process of digitalization of the Greek and Latin inscriptions of ancient Italy in the Epigraphic
Database Roma (www.edr-edr.it) is not only a way to store them and make them searchable, but also to
check every text and, sometimes, propose new interpretations and new readings. This paper contains 8 examples
of this good practice, dealing with Latin funerary inscriptions, mostly from Rome, of different kinds
and chronology, including a senatorial text and some carmina epigraphica.
