EPIGRAFIA DEL SACRO E COMMITTENZA LIBERTINA IN ETÀ REPUBBLICANA. UN’INDAGINE PRELIMINARE

Giovanni Almagno

Abstract

Starting from the review of a not well-known inscription dedicated to Victoria from Palatine hill (RPPA
53/54, 1980-82, pp. 291-295), the aim of this paper is a comprehensive investigation concerning the role
played by freedmen and freedwomen, as private dedicators and therefore not involved in corpora, in Rome
and Italy sacred epigraphy during the period from the origins until the end of the Republican age.
