Abstract

Barbara Arbeid – Carolina Ascari Raccagni – Stefano Bruni

The site of Parlascio (Casciana Terme-Lari, PI) is located on a small hill and underlying plateau in the southern sector of the territory of the ancient city of Pisa, on the border with Volterra. Research conducted since 2004 by the University of Ferrara has brought to light evidence of a large building built from organic materials and a well, which most likely served a function for the building. The finds, dating to between the 7th and the early 5th century B.C., document the coexistence of buildings with different functions: together with ceramic fragments pertaining to forms of common use (documented in quantities that are too big to refer just to a single residential building) there are clear traces of cult practices and materials related to production activities.
