Abstract

Decoding the material evidence of Etruscan sacred areas requires a broad investigative perspective, taking into consideration the various different factors at play and recurring phenomena. This is essential in order to clarify the relational dynamics that could arise between production, clients, and the sacred destination of the objects. Starting from the experience of the “monumental complex” of Tarquinia, this contribution aims to reflect upon these matters from the perspective of a number of fields of research and will focus on a number of specific case studies.
