IL SANTUARIO DI MONTE LI SANTI-LE ROTE A NARCE: RIFLESSIONI SUI PROCESSI DI MONUMENTALIZZAZIONE ENTALIZZAZIONE , GESTIONE E FRUIZIONE

Maria Anna De Lucia Brolli

Abstract

This paper deals with the construction of sacred buildings in the Narce – Monte Li Santi sanctuary in the 5th c. BC.
The analysis of the structures and of the techniques adopted by the builders highlights a very well-organised building system, both in terms of constructive awareness as well as with regard to the supply of raw materials. It is clear that in both cases there was a focus on efficiency and sustainability in relation to the available resources.
In addition to this, there is an evaluation of the economic and production processes related to the management of liturgical practices, in particular through the analysis of food offerings and their relationship with the vessels used for these purposes unearthed in secondary and primary deposits from the Hellenistic period.
