SANTUARI E CANTIERI NELLA GRECIA D’ETÀ CLASSICA. ALCUNE CONSIDERAZIONI “ECONOMICHE”*

Giovanni Marginesu

Abstract

This short essay investigates a number of economic features of the Greek world during the classical age, with reference to Athens, but also to centres such as Delphi and Epidaurus. Data concerning the construction of sacred buildings in sanctuaries will be considered. An attempt is made to illustrate the economic impact of practices relating to the recruitment and remuneration of workers, as well as the purchase and the sale of items within the building sites.
