CRONACHE DEL MUSEO DELL’ARTE CLASSICA: I VOLTI DEL MUSEO. PROGETTI E IMMAGINI

Raffaella Bucolo, Mariateresa Curcio

Abstract

The paper aims to outline some of the research conducted over the last year for the Museum of Classical Art.
Through the analysis of a small group of photographic glass plates held in the archives it has been possible to
focus on a phase in the history of the Museum dating to between the late 1940s and 1960s. The photographs
allow us to “enter” the Museum and to see it appeared during those years. As confirmed by the archived
documentation, the appearance of the Museum in the University City has changed several times, both in
terms of the plaster casts exhibited as well as the layout of the space, often in response new needs relating
to its significant role.
