DA FALERII A ROMA. A PROPOSITO DI UN FRAMMENTO ISCRITTO DI KYLIX A FIGURE ROSSE DALLE PENDICI NORD-ORIENTALI DEL PALATINO

AA. VV.

Abstract

This paper examines a small fragment of a red-figure Faliscan kylix discovered during the 2006 excavation
on the north-eastern slopes of the Palatine Hill. The sherd, found in building waste associated with the construction
of the impluvium of an aristocratic residence, bears a Latin inscription, painted before firing inside
the frame surrounding the tondo. Starting from the analysis of the context of discovery, the paper broadens
its perspective to the typological, productive, cultural and economic aspects connected to the presence in
Rome of a Faliscan kylix inscribed in Latin.
