IL PROGETTO TEAI: TEONIMI E PANTHEON NELL’ANATOLIA ITTITA

Federico Giusfredi, Livio Warbinek

Abstract

The TeAI project deals with the analysis of textual data from different corpora of cuneiform documents
written during the II millennium BCE in Hittite Anatolia, which is evaluated in linguistic and philological
perspective.
Through a renewed formal analysis of those materials, the TeAI project aims to produce a rigorous and
comprehensive description of the interactions between the so-called pantheons of ancient Anatolia, which
was a historical and geographical point of contact between Indo-European, Semitic and isolated languages,
as well as the ideal border between East and West.
The final results will be integrated into the general framework of cultural contacts in the Ancient Near East.
