EH ˘ U IŠH ˘ AMAI ‘CANTA!’ PROPOSTA DI UN METODO ALTERNATIVO PER LA COMUNICAZIONE DELLA STORIA DELLE ANTICHE CIVILTÀ

Rita Francia, Matteo Vigo

Abstract

The importance of re-discovering history is a challenging commitment of our time. The dissemination of
scientific discoveries to a large public is an even more urgent task these days, but the way how to achieve it is still problematic. The project eh˘u išh˘amai aims, therefore, to propose an innovative approach to disclose
to young students of primary and secondary schools the civilization of the Hittites, an Indo-European
population who lived in Anatolia (present central Turkish plateau) in the second half of the 2nd millennium
BCE. The project has set a manyfold agenda for dissemination which is articulated in outcomes accessible
to a large audience: theatre performances of Hittite myths accompanied by music, comics, cartoons, and
workshops in schools.
