Abstract

In the framework of the programs PRIN 2017 “Writing Uses: Transmission of Knowledge, Administrative
Practices and Political Control in Anatolia and Syro-Anatolian Polities in the 2nd and 1st Millennium BCE”
and PRIN 2020 “Networks of Power: Institutional Hierarchies and State Management in Late Bronze Age
Western Asia (NePo)”, one of the main goals is linked to the project “Research of Hittite prosopography of
the Imperial Period and compilation of the prosopographic database”. All the personal names from Hittite
epigraphic sources will be collected in a database, adapting an installation of the Omeka S platform. The
aim of this project is to make available to the scientific community a tool for checking the Hittite personal
names in their context, regularly updated, and consulted online. This data is the starting point for further
biographical and prosopographical analysis of the Hittite officials, dignitaries, and people of the reign of

atti and its Syrian vassals’ kingdoms.
