Abstract

THE PRAEPOSITIO INSTITORIA IN DOCUMENTS OF THE PRACTICE:
MAY WE FIND AN EXAMPLE IN THE NEW INTERPRETATION OF TPSULP. 48?
The praepositio institoria in documents of the practice: may we find an example in the new interpretation of TPSulp. 48? This paper moves from
the interpretation recently proposed by Éva Jakab for TPSulp. 48, belonging to the archive of the Sulpicii. In her opinion, this tablet might reflect a praepositio
institoria. After describing its content, I take into considerations all the proofs for and against such interpretation by comparing them with the data
included in the legal sources and in other tablets of the same archive. Finally, I find it probable her interpretation, even if not all doubts are resolved.
