Abstract

The architectural design of the Roman Forum of Pola is largely
unknown. Based on the Vitruvian rules, some of these problems
and the possible placement of certain elements of architectural
decoration are considered: function of relief bases with Jupiter
Ammon and Medusa and panels with Triton and the pairs of eagles
and Erotes carrying festoons, possible appearance of the forum
portico or basilica gallery according to the archaeological finds and
preserved architectural decoration elements, access to the twin temples
podium and chronological issues of the Forum reconstruction.
