Nel labirinto di Ulisse. Il viaggio come topos epistolare
Abstract
The paper analyses the role played by the journey in Fronto’s epistolary corpus. The theme
of the journey is the starting point of the epistolary narrative outlined in the collection,
and it strongly influences the representation of the relationship between Fronto and Marcus
Aurelius. The comparison between Marcus’ reference to Ulixes’ labyrinth (p. 6 ll. 8-9 vdH)
and other Latin letter collections offers an insight into the arrangement and aim of Fronto’s
Letters.
Key-words: Fronto, labyrinth, Ulixes, epistolary topoi, letter collections.
