Abstract


The contribution retraces the journey of Gregory of Nyssa towards his sister Macrina and
pays particular attention to the author’s lexical choices, which are indicators of a deeper
meaning to which Gregory alludes. This symbolic value will also emerge thanks to the
contextualization of the passages examined within the broader Gregorian production.
