Eucheriana

Abstract

This article discusses the text and transmission of two works of Eucherius, De laude eremi
and De contemptu mundi, both edited since 1990 by Salvatore Pricoco. It argues that in both
works (but especially the former) Pricoco undervalued important witnesses, and lists places
where the text might be improved in the light of this revaluation. Some new conjectures are
also suggested.
