Abstract

Unknown water, lost land. Notes of etymology and geography on the territory of Camarina
This article is the result of a specific study on a single inscription which is a part of a
wider research about the water management and urban and regional development planning
in the classical world. After a very brief contextualization, there follows an attempt
to individuating the original position of the land plot, the sale of which is recorded into
the present document, by means of the etymological analysis of the geographical references
used into the text itself.
