DA AKRAGAS AD AGRIGENTUM: LE FORME DELL’ABITARE ALLA LUCE DELLE RECENTI RICERCHE NEL QUARTIERE ELLENISTICO-ROMANO

Abstract

The most recent research led by the University of Bologna in the Hellenistic-Roman Quarter of Agrigento within the Archaeological and Landscape Park of the “Valley of the Temples” has highlighted an extraordinary stratigraphic sequence which dates from the 8th c. AD back to the 6th c. BC. Indeed, some structures and materials found inside the House III M date back to the moment of the foundation of the Apoikia, while the last archaeological traces before the definitive abandonment of the quarter refer to the 8th c. AD.
