Un évocat à Legio VII Gemina (León)

Abstract


The altar offered by an evocatus of legio VII Gemina at León (AEp 2021, 788), recently published,
comes as a surprise: it has no direct echo up to now in epigraphic documentation from Iberian
peninsula. A global re-reading in a military and Hispanic context changes the understanding and
historical significance of epigraphic evidence that do not fit into preset models.
