Claudio, Nerone, Agrippina: una nuova dedica da Lucus Feroniae

Enrico Angelo Stanco

Abstract

Among the epigraphic finds from the excavations of Lucus Feroniae, a small group of fragments in
bardiglio marble stands out (characterized by the particular processing) which, based on the orientation
of the marble veins, can be attributed to at least three different slabs, presumably forming part
of a single complex. The largest fragment can be attributed to an imperial dedication, presumably for
the emperor Claudius; the other two slabs could be attributable to dedications to Agrippina and the
young Nero, as part of a group of statues erected on the occasion of the prince’s adoption, in 50 AD.

Keywords: Claudius, Nero, Agrippina, Lucus Feroniae.
