Abstract


The necropolis excavated between 1969 and 1979 in the Marcellino Valley near Villasmundo
(Melilli, Syracuse) relates to a protohistoric site, whose the importance in the sicilian Iron Age is well-known,
also for the earliest Geometric greek vases, discovered in Sicily till now. The fibulae analysis of the necropolis
allows to determine the cronology and the relations of the site with Tyrrhenian and Ionian area of the Italian
peninsula.
