Abstract

is paper is a preliminary report on the archaeological investigations carried out by e University of Milan
on the fortied settlement of Monte Zara - Is Obias (Monastir-SU) between 2015 and 2019. Here we give a
brief account of the data gathered during the excavation and the analysis of the material culture and the faunal
remains from the ‘Alpha’ and ‘Strada’ excavation areas. e work on these two areas informs us of the presence
of two important phases of the sites’ life, dated to the Iron Age and the Punic-Roman periods.
