Abstract


These pages are devoted to the study of a recently detected structure within the Phoenician-Punic site of Cerro
del Castillo in Chiclana (Cadiz, Spain). ese unpublished remains could be related to the bread baking process.
ey consist of a partially preserved oven which can be attributed to a type dated back to somewhere between
the 4th and 3rd centuries BC turning out to be the most recent of those documented so far in this site. At the
same time, this enables us to examine various food processing activities which seem to have played a signicant
role in the life of this place.
