Abstract

Abstract
Some new interpretations about the Punic inscriptions from Antas can help us to illuminate the complex historicalperiod of which the temple was protagonist. In this perspective, the systematic destruction of them in the late first century B.C. is here attributed to the will of the romanized Sardinians of erasing the memory of Carthaginian
domination.

Riassunto
Una globale rivisitazione delle iscrizioni puniche di Antas suggerisce nuove ipotesi interpretative che contribuiscono a illuminare il complesso periodo storico di cui il tempio fu protagonista. In questo quadro, si ipotizza che la sistematica distruzione dei donari punici verso la fi ne del I sec. a.C. sia riconducibile alla volontà dei sardi ormai romanizzati di cancellare la memoria del dominio cartaginese.
