Circo Massimo: la riscoperta di un monumento eccezionale

Abstract


The text outlines shortly the Circus Maximus history, from antiquity to the twentieth century, when a part of the ancient building’s
hemicycle was discovered and restored. After, it was neglected and invaded by self-vegetation, so that the last forty years have signed
the real discovery of the Roman structure. The monument was the object of excavations, restorations, geological and particular
researches (logs with large diameter), moreover studies, campaigns of relieves, photos and also a 3D reconstruction.
