Tra l’Insula e il Theatrum Marcelli: riscoperta di un frammento della Forma Urbis nelle note inedite di E. Rodríguez Almeida

Abstract

This article reassesses a long-overlooked fragment of the Forma Urbis Marmorea and argues for its placement within lastra 32. Bringing
together Emilio Rodríguez Almeida’s unpublished notes and a new 3D photogrammetric documentation project, we align formal,
iconographic, and topographic indicators to propose a coherent recontextualization. The case refines the mapping of the Tiber riverfront
around the Insula Tiberina and clarifies aspects of the rear enclosure of the Theatrum Marcelli. Beyond the specific relocation, the study
illustrates the methodological value of integrating archival scholarship with high-resolution digital recording to resolve persistent ambiguities
in the City’s monumental core.
