Breve nota sull’iscrizione di Horatius Rogatus dal Foro di Traiano

Abstract

An interesting inscription engraved on a block of travertine (98.5 x 32 thickness between 12 and 16 cm; lett. 3-4.5), found in 1992
during the excavation campaign, reused as the threshold of building, is now on display at the Museum of the Imperial Forums-Trajan’s
Markets. The inscription was immediately interpreted as that of a procurator aquarum who restored the Forum Divi Traiani after a fire.
Recent autoptic analyses lead today to new exegesis of the text and to propose some new hypotheses interpretative.
