Le tenebre del paganesimo nella polemica dell’Adversus nationes di Arnobio

Gilda Sansone

Abstract

The essay focuses on the Adversus nationes by Arnobius of Sicca, a
work inspired to the antithesis between light and darkness. Light
is the Christian theology and darkness is the pagan foolishness
clouded by the illusory nature of idolatry. The analysis of all the
seven books of Arnobius’ work shows that the darkness of ignorance
is dissolved by the light of the knowledge provided by Christ, the
only master, philosopher and guide.
