Osservazioni su alcuni aspetti di carattere filosofico e giuridico nel De carne Christi, nell’Adversus Marcionem e nel De exhortatione castitatis di Tertulliano
Abstract
In some of Tertullian’s polemic writings (De carne Christi and
Adversus Marcionem) there are arguments that seem to derive from
Cicero’s De natura deorum. The themes involved in the discussion
are Christ’s real corporeity and the free will. Tertullian’s opponents
considered the free will not as a gift but as the cause of the human
sin. These themes have been discussed from Augustine’s time to
the Modern Age, sometimes by openly mentioning Tertullian and
Cicero. In De exhortatione castitatis, a paraenetical writing, there are
traces of the law culture of Tertullian, who used Ulpian’s conceptions
in order to distinguish between God’s voluntas and indulgentia.
