La polemica antipagana nei Discorsi di Agostino: temi e immagini
Abstract
In his sermons, Augustine describes the relations between
Christians and pagans. The attitudes of Christians towards pagans
are expressed by the terms hostis and inimicus: the pagan, as hostis
(i.e., enemy of the kingdom of Christ), must be fought, while as
inimicus (i.e., personal enemy of the Christian), must be loved, as
stated by the evangelical precept.
