ENTRANDO AD AQUINUM DALLA VIA LATINA. “A DUE TIRI DI SCHIOPPO A PALLA” DA PORTA ROMANA

Abstract

The road that goes from the western entrance of Aquinum at the district of Omomorto constitutes the object of this intervention.
The main aim is to better outline some topographical aspects concerning the western necropolis located along the via Latina
and largely destroyed by the construction of the Casilina Est service station, the methodological aspects related to the research in
progress at Aquinum, as part of a larger research project, but also to assess the damage to the heritage that modern infrastructures
caused in this suburban sector which is located immediately to the west of the Roman colony, including the construction of the
Autostrada del Sole at the beginning of the 60s of the last century.
