ALFILERES Y AGUJAS DE ÉPOCA ROMANA CONSERVADOS EN EL MUSEO ARQUEOLÓGICO P. ALEJANDRO RECIO DE MARTOS, JAÉN (ANDALUCÍA, ESPAÑA)
Abstract
In this work, 15 carved bone objects from the Roman era were studied, preserved in the Museo
Arqueológico P. Alejandro Recio, a private museum located in the San Antonio school in the
municipality of Martos (province of Jaén, Andalucía, Spain). These are artifacts of the mundus
muliebris, Hair pins (acus crinalis) and needles (acus), all manufactured in bone, encountered out
of context in the territory of Martos.
The objects were analyzed macroscopically and microscopically, traces of the last stages of
processing and osme traces of use were identified.
Thanks to the typological attribution of the various elements and the comparison with others
belonging to other contexts, it was possible to propose a general dating of the pins and needles
studied.
Keywords: Hair pins, needle, bone industry, mundus muliebris, Martos, Andalusia, Spanish.
