Abstract

The Sources of Truths and the Explanation of Methods (ʻUyūn al-ḥaqāʼiq wa-īḍāḥ al-
ṭarāʼiq) by al-ʻIrāqī (13th) is one of the medieval Arabic treatises that tell us about the tricks
of the medieval jugglers. Notably, some manuscripts offer a fascinating plate devoted to the
juggling props. Two of these plates are here edited and commented: mss. Berlin, Staatsbibliothek,
Wetzstein II 1375, fol. 29rv and Dublin, Chester Beatty Library, Ar. 4019, fol. 26rv.
