La via Amerina-Annia e Falerii Novi. Osservazioni e proposte sull’origine e lo sviluppo di una via publica romana

Stefano De Angeli

Abstract

Traditionally, the foundation of Falerii Novi, occurred after the destruction of Falerii
Veteres in 241/240 B.C., has been seen as the terminus post quem for the creation of the
Via Amerina-Annia.
On the contrary, Simone Sisani recently proposed to date the road to the last decades
of the fourth century B.C. This paper presents a review of the literary and epigraphic
sources related to this road, discussing Sisani’s analysis of evidence together with other
types of data.
